Business Information Centre based in Arua

This is aimed at providing timely and accurate business information to the business community for example information about prices within and outside the region, sources of finance and new technologies, existing and emerging markets, and weather forecasts to the farmers. This is still under development but WENIPS is establishing a District Business Information Centre (DBIC) in Arua in Partnership   with UNIDO, UNCCI (Arua), Gatsby (Arua), Arua District Local Government and other stakeholders.  ADBIC will offer the following services:

• Business information services (focusing on market and technology related information);
• Business Consultancy & Advisory Services (on a demand driven basis – focusing on preparation of business and marketing plans; identifying funding opportunities; and registration of establishments);
• Business Training (including entrepreneurship and management related training and ICT training for better productivity, efficiency and competitiveness);
• Internet Access Point or Kiosk (offering Internet and E-mail services for the business community or public).

To offer the above services, ADBIC is equipped with modern computers, printers, a copier, etc. It will also be equipped with competent staff in the field of ICT and business. The information centres will also provide secretarial services for the purpose of generating income to attain sustainability.
