Currently employed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in West Nile Private Sector Development Promotion Centre Limited (WENIPS), Jenaro has a wide range of experiences and skills especially in the areas of financial management/accounting, training, and general administration. He has handled a number of donor/partner funds in the organization including UNDP/GoU, HIV/AIDS Integrated Model District Program, Micro finance Outreach Plan, SUFFICE (U), AMFIU, CARE International In Uganda, Nebbi District NAADS Programme, in addition to locally generated funds.Jenaro served in Nebbi as Marketing/Transport Manager and Project Accountant of DISSA Integrated Rural Development Project (1992-94). He also worked as Senior Accounts Assistant Grade 1 Tax Officer and Acting Town Treasurer in Nebbi Town Council (1994-2001). He has therefore gained skills in donor fund management, local government accounting and tax administration as well as business accounting, under both manual and computerized environments.In 1998-2001 he not only developed a diocesan loan policy for Caritas (Nebbi Catholic Diocese), but also volunteered in training mainly Youth and women in business and entrepreneurship skills, basic record keeping, savings and loans management both under Caritas and the Diocesan Youth Apostolate Commission (NCD).
His experience will be vital in handling tasks related to financial management and administration, marketing research, strategic business planning, business consultancy services and training for micro and small enterprises including Village Savings and Credit institutions, auditing VSCIs, and computing. He has built the capacities of SACCOs through training in various topics (including formation of SACCOs, Ownership & Governance of SACCOs, Strategic Risk Management & Fraud Control, Business Planning for SACCOs, Auditing and Technical Backstopping, linkage of SACCOs to financial institutions, etc)
He has successfully implemented a number of partner projects with WENIPS being rated as a high achiever including implementing UNDP/GoU Income Generation and Sustainable Livelihoods (IG&SL) from 2003 to 2006; HIV/AIDS Prevention in the most vulnerable enterprises in Jonam County, Nebbi district funded by HIV/AIDs Model District Programme (AIM) (2005); UNDP/GoU Support to Private Sector Development in West Nile under their Country Programme Action Plan (2006 to-date) which focuses on enhancing the capacities of microfinance institutions to deliver effective services to their clients and become sustainable as MFIs and to make micro and small businesses productive, competitive and profitable; Care International in Uganda’s Scaling up Savings to Augment Income Nationally (SUSTAIN) I & II which promotes the establishment of, and support to, village savings and loans associations (VS&Las) to provide financial intermediation services in generally the bottom 31% of the poor in Arua, Maracha-Terego and Nebbi districts; Under National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS), he executed a number of contracts in Nebbi district – offering technology and advisory services to sub-county NAADS farmers on various enterprises including modern apiary keeping and management, cassava and Irish potato production, and goat rearing. He also implemented contracts/projects/assignments with partners like Microfinance Support Centre Ltd, MCAP, SUFFICE FSDU, AMFIU in promoting Savings and Credit Cooperative organizations (SACCOs); and Microfinance Outreach plan of the Ministry of Microfinance under financial extension project.

Since December 2006, Ajuma has served in WENIPS as FAM and has managed a number of project accounts including Support for Private Sector Development under UNDP/GoU CPAP, CARE Sustain Project, and Internally Generated funds account. Prior to this, the officer had served in other organizations in various capacities: from October 2004 to November 2006he was an Acting Finance Officer at Nile University in Arua – West Nile where he kept records of accounts; was in-charge of financial management, administration and budgeting; he introduced new cash control producers; Prepared quarterly, and annual financial reports; advised management on financial matters; was in-charge of procurement and logistics, and internal control.
From May to December 2005 he served as a Part Time accountant of ZOA Refugee Care – Arua in West Nile on an eight months contract to set up company books of accounts for both West Nile Project and Gulu Head office Programme; advised and introduced appropriate staff friendly accountability filling system; trained a Cashier on her roles; evaluated and recommended on the financial control procedures; entered all accounting information n the ZOA Information System (ZIS); prepared the company for an external audit; and, advised on Financial administration matters. Other responsibilities he held included being Finance and Logistics Officer/Member Projects Committee from August 2004 to June 2005 of Nile University Arua – West Nile where he ensured proper funds utilization, resource deployment and accountability; drew company budgets and ensured effective financial control, prepared financial reports, project proposals, and facilitated capacity building programme for management. Vunde has a wealth of experience in promoting microfinance having served as a SACCO manager, a financial extension worker, a programme officer and a freelance consultant in the field of microfinance. As a Programme Officer of WENIPS (August 2006 to May 2009) he was charged with the duty of mobilizing and forming VS&LAs/groups, training and strengthening the Village Savings and Loans Associations through 19 community Based Trainers.
As a financial Extension Worker Nebbi District under Microfinance Outreach plan, Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic development, October 2004 to June 2006 in a project implemented by WENIPS, his main responsibility was implementing Micro Finance Outreach Programme by sensitization and mobilisation of groups of potential clients within the sub county for good practice micro finance and linkage of such Groups to sustainable Micro finance in the sub county. Other responsibilities were: Linking of groups and Producer organisations to access financial services from SACCOs; Providing training to groups especially on group dynamics, leadership and governance; Linking SACCOs to access capacity building programs from MCAP / SUFFICE; Mobilizing communities especially farmers to form or join SACCO so as to access financial services; implementation of the business culture program and linkage of SACCOs to MCAP and SUFFICE for capacity building support; and, appraisal for selection of start up SACCOs and training of the members of SACCOs in Arua and Nebbi district. As a WENIPS’ Trainer in Microfinance he was involved in training / building capacity of SACCOs in West Nile on topics like Delinquency management, and Product development, Accounting for MFIs, Governance of CBFO, Financial resource mobilizations and Training Members on their rights, roles and Obligations. Also involved in training Orphans and Vulnerable Children on Selection, Planning and Management of Income generating activity and rotational savings. . As Manager of Nyaravur Farmers Cooperative Savings and credit society Ltd, he was vested with the responsibility of Planning and Monitoring, personnel /human resource Management, Product Development and Refinement, Credit and Savings mobilization, Finance and Administration, and Public Relations. As an Accountant, Nyaravur Farmers Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Ltd (1999-2000) he prepared payment and internal vouchers, Posted general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers, balanced all books of accounts on daily, weekly monthly quarterly and annual basis, prepared all financial reports, work plans and budget estimates and supplementary budget for board’s approval, monthly bank reconciliation statements. He is an experienced and skilled facilitator and has trained on various topics on microfinance.
Omar worked as Assistant Project Trainer for Care International in Uganda (JENGA Project) 1998-2000; Chief Training Facilitator in charge of West Nile Region under Uganda Change Agent Association 200-2001; and Business Development Services Trainer under WENIPS 2002 to 2006, Programme Officer for VS&LA since 2006.. Omar has also attended a number of short courses including Fundraising and Resource Mobilization –CDRN Kampala 2003; Human Resource Management-Transform Programme (UK) 2003; Project Planning, Management, Monitoring & Evaluation-CDRN Kampala in 2003. His skills will be useful in training farmer groups’ business development skills, group dynamics, training in selected enterprises and training of post harvest technologies. |
